I was having this convo with a friend about washing Chicken. She said she doesnt do it always, I thought it was gross to not wash Chicken before you cooked it. This other friend agreed, thinks you have to wash all meant including mince, I thought that was weird. Who washes all meat here? My friend said she washes red meat cause she doesnt want any blood on it, but I like steak rare, so I Im okay with blood.

I don’t wash mince.

I do wash meat and chicken with lemon salt when washing the chicken and a must to burn the hairs on the chicken, when cooking a roast.

Like all of you i wash my chicken its safer.i also wash my meat to take off the blood and the little pieces of bones or wood you can find on it if you have it chopped at the butchers. Not with the mince though it tends to keep the water.

I was all flesh thoroughly including chicken, lamb, beef and yes mince

Mince is so easy to wash, just pop it in a colander and fill it with water, the water drains off itself. If you want to hurry the process (as I sometimes do), just stir the mince while in the colander and it will drain quicker.

I remember the first time my hubby made koftas for me, we were dating and I went to his flat and when I bit the kofta I could just tell the mince wasn't washed. I swallowed cos I really liked him but have since taught him how to wash mince

I never cook chicken with skin, so no need to burn hairs
