Dear all,
I need information on a Fez Wedding that I'm invited to this winter. I live in the United States and I have few questions and I will be more than grateful if you can give me any helpful details:- 1) What is the best hotel to stay in Fez? 2)Where would I buy a very elegant fashionable stylish Caftan (please note that this is a very big wedding with a lot of fashion icons)I will have few days to shop and couldn't find online any information on ready made caftan's in Fez stores. Any specific colors and trends for 2005? 3) Who is the best hairdresser in Fez? 4)What is the best airlines? 5) If anyone can kindly elaborate on the wedding traditions in Fez or refer me to a site where I can read all about it. Sorry too many questions but I'm clueless and never been to Morocco. Thank you very much in advance, Dania |

No problem, we are here to help
1) Hotel Lagmal it the best in Fez 2)There is a Market place called JOUTIA, that's where Najat 3tabou buys all her Elegant dresses. 3)There is a lady with the name Aicha Kandisha, once you are there just ask anyone and they will direct you to her Salon 4)U don't have much choices there, I suggest Grand Taxi from Casa to Fez 5)Like any weeding just liquor up and shake your booty

![]() ![]() ![]() Dania - unless you didn't guess, Tekab's response isn't for real ![]() ![]() ![]() Try the various websites. There is a wealth of information on Fes. Fly there via London - there are direct flights to Fes on BA except peak summer time (late June to mid-Sept). Otherwise catch a connecting flight from Casablanca to Fes on RAM. That can be booked with your main ticket. The ppl in the hotel can direct you to a reputable hairdresser. As for buying clothes, again, they are available everywhere. Your guide can take you to the boutiques. |

Tekab,
Shokran Ya3am for your funny spirit I will make sure I will ask Aicha Kandisha if she is interested to hook up with you sometime soon I don't do the liquor or shake a booty but I will keep that in mind.Ghazala, Thank you sweetie for your reply. I have checked online several sites about the caftan's but no luck. I hope two days before the wedding will be enough for me to find a nice one. I think you are right BA is the best airline to go. I found a site last night on some Riyads that looks awesome! I don't want to stay in a modern hotel I would love to enjoy the bright color moroccan decoration. I was hoping for some local tips on the new Caftan's fashion if anyone visit Morocco this summer. |

To be honest, you would be better off going to Derb Sultan in Casa for kaftans. Perhaps you could put 1 or 2 days in Casa in your itineary. Kaftans are much cheaper there & (sorry to the Fassis out there) the designs are better. I went there in April & was spoilt for choice AND surprised at the difference in price. Casa is definitely the place to shop!
You're right, Riads are much nicer to stay in than standard hotels. Plus they are mainly central - same as rest of Morocco. I was looking at a place called Riad Sherhazade in Fes - wanted to stay there a couple of days. Looks lovely. Check this link out: http://www.maghreb-in.com/actualite_...marocaines.php |

Hello Dania,
As Fez is a regional airport you would need to fly via Casablanca and transit especially of you’re coming from the U.S. Royal Air Maroc flies direct to Casablanca from JFK, so no need to transit in Europe. Not sure on their schedules from the U.S to Morocco though. Ghazala, is right Casablanca is where you shop for all Moroccan garnments, it’s not only the variety but the quality of the material, the Tailors and the designs. All my Moroccan clothes are made in Casa. As for Moroccan attire for weddings. Here are a couple of Taksheetats, minus all the bridal jewellry : ![]() ![]()
