When do you all think you will perform Hajj? When you're old? When you're married?

Most people (even some in hijab) say "I'll go when I'm ready, not now". So honest opinions please, who feels ready for hajj?

I finally feel I am ready - Inshallah I want to go next year if possible. Best to get it out of the way before you get side-tracked with children etc.

Also, you are supposed to go when you are fit not wait till you are so old you need to be pushed around in a wheelchair. If I had a penny for every time Moroccans say 'I'm too young for hajj' even when they're in their late 40s/50s

I once heard on IQRA that it is Haram NOT to go when you are financially able to. There are no excuses for those who can afford to do it. It was a quick response to one of those 'Dial-a-Fkii' programmes so the answer wasn't as detailed as I would have liked. Does anyone know more about this?

I think there are varying opinions amongst the scholars, some say its definitely haram not to do hajj if you are physically and financially able, and others say there is no specific sin in delaying. This is what I could find, read the last bit, there are different opinions:

I also feel like I am ready now. Moreso becuase I want to perfom hajj before starting a family. Its funny how these thoughts all spring to mind when the 30th birthday is looming

Yep, that lil milestone makes you want to clear up all 'loose ends' you didn't finish in your 20s

Thanks for the link. Will carry on looking. Inshallah when Ramadan comes I will collect all the leaflets they give out & the post & if it is muktab next year we will do it.

Since this thread was posted on the open board and not in the Islamic section, I suspect you want answers from all members.

I'd smoke the bones of my mother in a hooka before I'd go prancing around a chunk of rock in Mecca stranded elbow-to-elbow with a bunch of brainwashed babblers. Besides, I believe in the benefits of daily bathing and would never willingly suffer the incalcuble stench from hordes of unwashed proselytizing stoners.

Never, nekogda, nunca ... not in 100 million years.

Thanks for asking though.
