Salam
many of us moan and complain everyday for not having enough and yet if one only look at others then you will see that we are very greedy to acknowldge that we are in the same boat and all are weak. The Qur'an uses the word 'haq,' the right of the poor; so what the wealthy man is asked to give is not charity but that which should come back to the poor, as a matter of right. -------------------------------- A rich muslim man was driving his Car and stoped to park his car and sees a homeless siting on the road and said in his heart" I hope he is not going to ask me for money i can not be bothered this time" But the man didn't and only said "nice car you have Sir" The Rich man was puzzelled and reply " do you need any help? the homeless replied" and who doesn't?" ------------------------------------------- Yes who does not need help no matter how rich or poor everyone needs help some need spiritual help others need love and others need food to survive. the only way to strick a balance is acknowledge that but sadly many do not and instead spend days running around in courts and places arguing about petty things which can come and go and neglet to seek for help thinking that they are self sufficient, or their wealth will resolve many of their problems and we all know that Money does not buy love or does money buy a true friendship. no matter how rich a person is or becomes a single calamity can over thrown all that in the bin. a single accident or sickness can make a person loose his or her status image.and be left alone and sad and only if any of his money were used wisely he would have many loved ones to help him/ her but sadly not many think that way Charity, preached by every religion of the world, is a way of bringing justice to society. And justice is the essence of religion, Islam has therefore made charity, that is zakat, obligatory and binding upon all those who embrace the faith; it has been made into an institution in order to give in permanence and regularity. Wake up and give charity to anyone who needs it even a smile is a great charity because it brings love and peace to others. that is all what UI want to say ![]() -------------------------------- The more love you give the more love you will find ---------------------------------------------------- Peace |

Very true T, and that is why we should count our blessings everyday.
Theo , the poor don't have risk capital. Don't be so cruel. You may think you are funny but try telling ur silly jokes to the poor children in Africa, I'm sure you won't get any laughs! |

I agree but not to random people off the street esp with the world full of opportunist beggars.
Islam advises to give to nearest (aqareeb) as we KNOW that they are in need. Every family has a needy relative (or 1000). If the richer members of each family looked after the needy ones now & again, their situation would improve greatly. As far as I am concerned THAT is welfare in Islam. To ignore your relatives yet to freely give to the guy outside the station waving a 'SAve the Donkey' tin must be wrong |

Only If he can get a credit and if he can get credit then he must have a home to go. hence 90% of his problems solved.ghazala You are right we need to look after our closed ones first. charity starts from home. but sometime the closed one don't always qualify either because they don't deserve it or personal reasons would stop us from helping them. |
