Wink

is it 'forbidden' for women, esp unmarried ones, or rather, teen girls, to walk alone at night, say, 9pm? i mean, i went out alone to walk on the streets of Rabat alone about 9.30pm, and i could see very little ladies walking and still hanging around. there were definitely lots of men around. say, i'm still new here in Morocco, so if there's any do's and don'ts, could someone pls tell me...cos' i'm only 17! and my parents are back in singapore, and i've only got my friends, Sayeem, Shahira and Hafiz with me...

Your Muslim parents left you, a teenager, all by yourself in Morocco only to wonder the streets? That is 7aram. Your parents shall be arrested if they ever return to alMaghreb. You are living in Morocco as an illegal. Where you get your ca$h from?

What does your boyfriend from Chez Ali say about you hanging out in streets at night? surely he can share something about Moroccan traditions with you.

If you are asking what the position of Islam regarding the matter then it is a crime again the parents to leave their children alone, if you want to know about what Moroccan law say about it it is also criminal, if you are asking whethere it is possible that it can happen in Morocco then anything can happen there Morocco is like any other country there evil and good everywhere

I got the same question as the "gents" here: what are you doing in Rabat all by yourself? And why are you hanging around on the street when it's dark? Rabat is a metropolitan. It's not a safe place for lbnaat to wonder of at night?

And by law you are a minor. So who is your caretaker then, if your parents have gone? Does not sound believable. You know, you could be deported? And your parents could be sued for abandonment?

What a bogus story!

It would appear so.........

On the OFF CHANCE that you are serious - the rules are the same as everywhere else. Rabat is a modern city not a primitive backwater
