I haven't been in Marrakech for aaaaaaaaaages. Used to be one of my fav places in Morocco though. We're thinking about going, though.... inshAllah, one day soon.

So what do you ladies (and guys) think? If you would go there and you wouldn't have family to stay with (or you do but you don't want to hehehe) Any suggestions? Hotel? Or renting a Riad?
(No camping hehehehehehe!!!!)

my amily is phoning me all the time to go there and visit..
i had to take care of some family stuff up north!
it is amazing subhanalah..when visiting north i tell plp you will never be a proud moroccan if you do not visit th south..especialy MARRAKECH !

well Malika i suggest you come with freinds..hotels and motels ar all around Marrakech!
family is ok!!except if you stay late at the place of jammea el fna..food and acrobats..everything is lovely..
so you like dakka marrakchiyah?

If you have the opportunity to rent a riad then you should. Marrakech is lovely, but personally I get itchy feet after a few days there.

Riads are ridiculously expensive now. Don't bother with all that. If you don't have family to stay with (or can wangle some accommodation through work ) I would say rent an appartment further away from the medina. You can always get the bus in (forget Taxis).

marrakech is really nice, but i was really dissapointed with the food there.

Why disappointed? Where & what did you eat? The BEST tagines I've ever tasted have been in & around Marrakech. Even the stalls in Djemaa al Fna serve good cheap food. I'm surprised......
