Depression and loved ones are not helping

salam all!
you guys know we all go throu depression! because of life issues,love ,school,work.. many suggest a vacation,or consulting a doctor.. when you guys go throu depression what do you suggest as a healing.. and how do you experience ..if no how do you comunicate with depressed people ! regards, |

I think that making an effort to re-connect spirutially helps to bring back balance in life. For me, that would be spending time in Dua after Salat. Or spending extra time in quiet contemplation in the Mosque after Jumma. I also like Yoga. It makes me calm and relaxed. I have a freind who is prone to moodiness and depression. I make sure that if she says she is going to do something with me, she actually does it. Active lives, don't really allow time for depression either. Hope that helps, I am no psycologist, though!!!!! nygirl |

i also read in an islamic medical book that whn one feels depressed you should visit a prison and a mental institute! Seeing others in worse case scenarios kind of brings home the fact that if you are not in their position then things are never as bad as they seem!
