Just been ringing around a few places. Listen to this ...
"Private medical insurance excludes cover for medical and hospital care during normal pregnancy and childbirth. Women who have private medical insurance and wish to give birth in a private hospital will have to self-pay. " Isn't that unfair? Any way around it? Bintlebled , advice??? |

Out of interest though, how much would it cost to receive care through your pregnancy and give birth privately?

Actually for a first time pregnancy , one sees the doctor/midwife about 10 times during pregnancy. Scans are pre-arranged with the NHS. So care during pregnancy seems fine on the NHS. Its the BIRTH thats a problem , who wants to stay at one of those MRSA infected NHS hospitals ![]() Gotta work now, Juma Moubarak! |

Sorry to hear about that....to be honest I've not given it any thought yet as it's all so far away, but I don't really have a problem with NHS hospitals...from what I've seen, the care you receive there is fine...the only concern is the MRSA as you mentioned. What about going to a midwife centre? I know many sisters who gave birth in one of those...but I don't know too much about them..??
