in the sometime battle of the sexes, men have the power and women have the moral authority. Men get to do what they want (power), and women get to scold them and tell them that their actions are wrong (moral authority). If this generalization is true, is it because men are more individualistic (and traditionally control the money) and women more the guardians of the relationship?

![]() Anyway, let me indulge you with an answer ........every ADULT is responsible for his/her own life. Doesn't matter what happened in ur childhood (it is over after all )) , doesn't matter if ur spouse is a cow (get rid of them if you have to )), its all up to YOU!!If a man is lazy it is no-one's fault but his own! |

It doesnt have to be like that - why should we have to scold? Why should 'power' be part of marriage? If people married partners they were genuinely compatible with and respected as individuals, you would have partnerships instead of battlefields with one always trying to get the upper hand.
Personally I think people should marry ADULTS not CHILDREN to avoid this problem. Leave the children for those from back home. Having to scold & discipline someone in return for a passport is a fair bargain. Plus maybe there will be more 'adults' over here one day
