Everyone is faced with difficulties in life and I wonder what you guys do to over come them. I have been blessed with peace and tranquility in the last year and kept thanking Allah for that untill last few weeks I started having one desaster after another one and am still smilling and saying(ina lillah wa ina ilayhi rajehoon). do you guys think that the bad luck has anything to do with bad behaviour or is it just life?

Bad Luck, an example: The concept of bad luck has no basis in Islam. There is no bad omen in Islam. Rasulullah said, 'Do not blame time.' e.g. it is 13th today, then such and such a bad thing took place. We should not hold faith in these things, but rather we should say Allah is the sole-doer of everything. If a person believes that because it is the 13th today, then this bad luck came upon me, i.e. the date 13th is the reason, Allah wasn't the doer, then it will be Kufr. But if a person who says it believes Allah is the sole doer, then it won't be Kufr. The Arabs in the time of Rasulullah did also have these beliefs and they used to say that we were given rain because of a certain Star. So Rasulullah prevented them from this and said, 'Whosoever says so believes in the star and disbelieves in me.' Rasulullah showed them that to say this is not permissible, but rather we should attribute everything to Allah. And Allah Ta'ala Knows Best

Salam sister
Thanks for the Haddith, I am aware of it and hamdolilah do not believe in luck at all, and I agree it's a form of shirk if one does. My question really is if a person is faced with too many problems in a very short time lets say unusual one and his faith is unshakable and strickly reject anything other what God has decred. would it be right to say that maybe it's a punishment because say the person has done something wrong? or to just accept it as a form of test and if that is the case what are other ways to seek refuge on top of dua? Peace |

Personally i accept everything as a test although we are given choices and sometimes we make the wrong ones and bad things happen but even so i simple say 'it is because it is' and then get over it.

You are absolutely right, sometimes bad luck once understood is good luck, we don’t always know what is good for us and sometimes we are blinded but this world. I think we have to actually ask ourselves if we even can acknowledge that luck exists when we are told we should not. I gave up believing in luck good or bad long ago, I believe in God and the only thing i should really concern myself with is being a better person/better muslim and how my actions affect others, this is an ongoing struggle so luck has no space in my existence. I read something the other day that made so much sense to me ' when God wants to make something mad he satisfies all its desires'
