I saw this show on 2M last week (don't know if any of you saw it too). Anyway, these 3 Moroccan chicks all like this bloke (Jamal)) and they each go to this place where a holy person is buried, pray, and tie an item of Jamal's clothing to a tree to bind him to them

Now I know this stuff doesn't work but what I'd like to know is why do some girls in Maroc believe in this stuff? Do any of u believe it?

I know Sihr exists but I think some people sadly have too much belief in it. Eg. My daughter isn't getting married, so someone must have "done something" to her. My son ran away with another woman, she must have given him something to eat!

I think its crazy! But I'd like to know if any of u believe in it, practice it or experienced Sihr?

It's rife in Morocco! I believe it exists, but not to the extent that some people do. I remember being in Morocco and having to take part in these ritual-esque type activities to "ward off the evil eye" Don't have any faith in those 'remedies' personally, but hey, what do I know...??

Assalam Alaikoum Sisters,

Undoubtedly black magic is something that exits in Morocco and the Muslim countries. Quite a number of Moroccans & Egyptians I know who experience some type of downfall or illness really do quickly jump to the conclusion that somebody has carried out black magic and start pointing fingers at others.

If someone refuses to marry someone whom the parents want him/her to marry, then the parents begin to regard it to be the cause of black magic. ESPECIALLY, if the relations of the husband and wife turn sour, the first assumption is that it must be black magic that was carried out by such and such person. Black magic is regarded to be the cause behind every minor and major illness.

This type of understanding is incorrect and it's very hard to advise others not to be to hasty in thinking that the cause of a problem is black magic, because more often than not, black magic has nothing to do with their problems.

Walaikoum Salam
