Not Islamic schools but more for muslim children attending Church of England schools. Does anyone know if they are allowed to take the day off seeing as its fallen on a school day?

Yes they are allowed here in the UK as far as I know. Even at work we are allowed to take time off I booked 3 days off because i was not sure when Eid will be.

my brother took the day off from school and just told them it was Eid, theres not much they can really do, its only one day after all.

Some employers allow you take unpaid leave in which you can just book the day off without using your holiday. I've used it before when i had a long holiday in Maroc and wanted to save some paid holiday for the rest of the year.

Yes as part of your holidays of course some places like mine would not always allow time off I wanted time off for fridays 3 hours off and they declined it but gave us a room to pray in instead typical

i think you should actually be very grateful that you have a room to pray in, this isn't an Islamic country after all..
