Apparently this oil comes from a tree called Argan and only exist in Morocco.
http://www.dietobio.com/aliments/en/argan.html legend stated that The people of Argan visited the prophet(pbuh) and he spoken in their languages and since then their area is blessed. My question anyone knows about this story? any Haddith etc.. please post it in the Islamic forum. Anyone ever tasted this oil? The UN lanched a project back in 80s to discover why no such tree could exist somewhere else. As it is relatively perishable, Argania spinosa oil is mostly consumed by producing families or sold at local markets. It is also sold in some stores in Moroccan cities. It is very popular among the 600,000 Moroccan immigrants in Israel, who are willing to pay prices as high as $43 per liter (ten times greater than the price of olive oil). The average yield of argan fruits per tree is 8 kg. Global production of argan fruits is estimated to be about 350,000 tons, or about 50 billion fruits. The region of Essaouira produces between 1,000 to 2,000 tons of oil per year, corresponding very roughly to a local population of 60,000-120,000 trees, producing 142 million to 286 million fruits per year. Apart from oil, argan fruit, foliage and oil extraction by-products constitute valuable food resources for livestock. The hard, heavy and durable argan timber gives good charcoal and construction wood, and is also used to fashion plows, tool handles and household utensils. please input what you know Thanks |

You've never seen the goats climbing the Argania to eat its fruits? The fruit looks like a giant zitoun.I've know about the wonders of Zeet Argane since the day I was born. We always had it, although it was special. Because it is very expensive per liter!!! |
