Greetings Kendra1...

I believe it was Tihad who created the thread about the fake Qu'ran here in the Open Board but i had to respectfully move it to the Al-Qur'an/Coran Board.

Even i cannot find the thread now, but it was there a while back. Perhaps Tihad himself might have deleted the thread (A Member can delete his own thread) for reasons only known to him.

Regarding the Fake Qu'ran...

The "True Furqan" can be read from this website:
http://www.islam-exposed.org/index.htm

*Please note that such publications do not necessarily reflect the People of the Book*.

Even i (as a non-Muslim) do not endorse such lame ways to proselytize others.
It is truly disgusting and uncalled for.

I think the authors are wanting the same publicity (and death threats) Salman Rushdie had.
Bless their souls.

PS: If this discussion escalates to a theological one,
i will be moving this thread over to the Al-Qur'an/Coran Board.
And please remember to keep it civil guys.

Ever the moderator

If that is the case with regards to that book then there is an islamic centre in London that can investigate and persue the matter officially. I shall have a look for their contact details in a sec.

On another note, this kind of practice is becomming more and more commonplace. You have to be incredibly carefull, especially on the net, with islamic litreture. Its a shame becuase such a useful and vast resource is being abused and makes you question what you read 10 fold.

Smile Hi Sista...

I totally agree with you there.
It is truly a shame to see such hate sites on the internet.
Anti-Catholic, Anti-Jewish, Anti-Muslim, Anti-everything.

That is why i still prefer the good old fashioned way sometimes. Going to the library.
If i still have doubts about any religion, i prefer going to the source rather than rely on people who claim to be "theologians or historians or experts on religion".

Just because some love to shout "Allah Akhbar" or "Holy, Holy, God Almighty" (laymen) from the street corners does not automatically make them experts in the field of theology or even "Holy".

Hi DV

Nothing beats the source. Although we have to rely on peoples interpretations to some extent with everything. Any book that is published is a reflection of the authors opinions and judgements, no matter how objective they strive to be. But thats natural and normal and nothing would ever get written if it wasnt the case. The important thing is for the person themselves to be able to qualify the content and form a judgement independantly. Then look at what other supporting or confliciting material there is.
