Some UK schools have proms, but they're nowhere near the same scale as those in the US. It's like an institution over there, a real turning point in a teenagers life...whereas over here we have to make do with the crappy year 9 school disco

We had a sixth form prom which was really quite posh. It was in a bar/club that had 2 different levels for different tastes. It was a good evening but not a huge affair like the Americans have.
Proms are fun, you get to pamper yourself for a really special night!

I used to watch the American teenage movies & shows & wish that we'd have a prom
We did have our year 7 school trip & a disco after it well I was only 10 at the time So it was a bit lame
