Over 3000 mega markets are planned to take over small business in morocco.
Do you guys think it's a good idea to see huge markets in our doorsteps? or prefer old small shops instead?

Small shops any day

You get enough of super market quality food and superstores for furniture clothes etc here in the UK. Its nice to see some origanality and authentic goods, plus service with a smile when you go back to Maroc .

There are two sides to it though, on the one hand how will the families that support themselves through the shops survive? On the other hand it may stablise the prices and provide for greater equality. Its damm anonying when shopkeepers hike the price up when they realise your 'fi kherre'je'

Look, maybe some RME's like the nostalgia of a moulpisri, but the average Moroccan in Morocco wants to go to the supermarket just as you and I do. First of all it's exciting for them, they love Asima, Makro and Marjane. Secondly because of bulk-offer, the prices are a little below what moulpisri charges. And a dirham can only be spent once, yak oula la? Fair is fair, Asima has low prices.

The only negative side is that hypermarchés and supermarchés don't have carnet de crédit !!!!!!

I have thought about this subject a couple of times!
Maybe those with fantasies about the west will not want to 7arag if they have them!
And I think that Ma-li-ka is correct, they may just have better prices and will offer more to the common Moroccan.
