In a bid to increase my knowledge and understanding of Morocco i would like to know more about how the country is devided. Specifically in relation to the people, i can only think of the one example at the moment and thats of 'ness shameal'. Which i believe are people from the north, could be wrong. Any insight apprecicated

Yes. Shamal meaning north, you might have also heard 'nass dakhalia',which refers to people from Casblanca,Rabat, Meknes etc (the south) Some Casablancans find that term quite derogatory,i don't see why though??

I hadnt heard of Dakhalia before. Are there any more?

This is a bit ironic but i would like to know if Jebliya are also a group, like Shamal and Dakhalia etc...

Jabal-meaning mountain,jbala-people from the mountain. (Northern Morocco)

Mmm..there's La3roubia,a vast majority of people on this forum are la3roubia,i can tell by the way they write darija (moroccan) Some moroccans refer to the south as la3roubia.

funny, i thought that people from the South were 'Souassa' from Souss region (frm Marrakech and then further south Agadir, Tiznit etc)

Yes you're right, but i wasn't talking about the berbers in the south.
