Simple, there is no middle age crisis, but i can tell you that at least here in the UK, many Moroccans i know, who were outgoing, drinking, etc etc , are now religious.
I think many of us, and after living many years in the west, came to the conclusion that while the west is materially rich and prosperous, its culture is spiritually empty and devoid of any meaningfull inner happiness. Society here is really a mess.
So, they rightly found that the islamic way of life offers all the missing spiritual spark and more.

People are far more religious than they were 10/20 years ago. Certainly those who prayed outside Ramadan were next to none - now more & more are becoming practising Muslims
