I picked Darfor because they are muslims and there are many Islamic charities operating here in the uk and considerably more internationally, who evidently did not support the cause of these people. Instead they were marginall supported by Red Cross and the like. Why contribute to these organisations when the fail to provide aid??
I never contribute to the massonic organisations such as Red Cross or UNICEF or similars ...and my thoughts go the the moroccans who are starving first and foremost....I am not GOD , I cannot fix the world , but if I can help I first help the moroccans ...

Salam,

the situation in Darfur is horrendus! The government backed campaign of ethnic cleansing is one of the most disgusting examples since Chechnia.

People are being killed, maimed, taken into slavery, and displaced due to the colour of their skin and their ethnicity. Women and children raped, and men killed. Entire villages poisoned. This has been evident for more than 6 months now in the public media domain, and years before this within Human Rights organisations. However there have been no reprocussions for Sudan by the UN or even the ever powerful, and human rights aware US! Excuse me while I puke!

The stem of the issue is that the Sudanese government (who deny all allegations BTW), want to get rid of the black skinned nationals, leaving the Arab race as the dominant. Tribes such as the Fur, Zaghawa, Masellete, Tunju and many more are openly being killed by the government backed militia called the Janjaweed. These are Muslims killing Muslims.

No one (apart from Amnesty international and the UNHCR) is willing to state that anything out of the ordinary is going on. The UK for one has made NO attempts to condemn the happenings in Sudan - me thinks it may have something to do with the oil reserves in the country, and promises having been made. I don't know.

All I do know is that nothing is being done to help these people. These people are poor, helpless, uneducated farmers. All they have is their land and livestock. They hurt no one, and carry on with their lives in a peaceful manner, obiding by their religion and culture. But are being denied their right to live, but more disgustingly, they are being denied the international protection they deserve and are entitled to, as as far as the international arena is concerned, everything is hunky dory over in sudan. It's a loose/ loose situation for most of these people.

Subhanallah, its a grave situation. Do these people not realise that it is unlawful to kill a fellow muslim, that it leads straight to the gates of hell. How can they even comprehend committing such a shameful act on innocent people. I have great trouble understanding the mentality of these types of actions. As far as i am aware there currently is no support from the muslim community on this issue but what about organisations such as Islamic Aid etc? Why are they not intervening to even provide basic life support for these people?

Salam sista - i hope you are well love! What these people are doing is in no way to do with Islam. It's money and power. They see these groups who have their own opposition factions are undermining the governments power. There is no such thing as democracy.

The situation in Darfur is terrible. I've said it before, Muslims are the last people to ever take notice of the situation with their brothers and sisters in other countries.

The only thing that I have seen happening in the community in the UK is an Islamic Releif fashion show, featuring a Rakasa dancing under Ayats of the Qur'an!!!! Muslims don't care for their own! Their happy living in their own bubbles, worrying about how many more bricks they need to build their villa back home.

It is not only Muslims who are being killed in Sudan - the Christian and indigenous animistic tribes in the South are also being almost wiped out, because of this ethnic conflict... but then again, mad weather changes and rocketing inflation rates have not helped the situation.

I must admit i never took notice of what goes on there but when i watched a program about it. i was very sick in my belly and really made me think how evil some people could end up.
We are muslims and the first Man who called for the prayer was a black man bilal(RA)and colour was never a problem and to see people ignoring the suffering just because it's not an Arabic issue is sick. 1.5 billion muslims if they could all give away 1penny that would have been enough to feed those poor people and stop those attrocities i see no excuse walah it's so sad
