Im talking J'arda that actually do what the job description says. In my experience they are all to concered, or only concerned, with any which way they can slap a fine on you. Regardless of whether you have actually committed an offence. They are only on the roads to pick up peoples loose change!
They are corrupt but even if they werent, how can you police people who simply cannot drive?? There is no point in checking a licence if that licence was obtained 'fraudulently' is there?
The whole system needs to be regulated; but I doubt that will ever happen..........

That is why i said "ensuring they actually have their licence". A large percentage of those on the roads dont even have a fraudulent licence, if there was adequate policing then a least the authorities could sift these law breakers out of the equation. Effective policing of the roads would prevent hundreds of deaths because the authorities should provide the means for drug and alcohol testing (a significant contributor) and with a provised system control for un-road worthy vehicles and bad driving practices. Those operating outside the system would be justly dealt with.

In an ideal world, that would be how it would work. Sadly, most low paid police officers care more about getting a 'cup of coffee' from motorists rather than preventing accidents. Like you said, they wave many things through for a small price. If you dont fancy treating them to coffee, you get to enjoy a large brossi for speeding or some other nonsense.

If only corruption wasnt so deeply ingrained in our society......
