According to the sunnah, the consent of the first wife doesn't need to be sought...and in fact you don't even have to tell her. Obviously though we should try and use hikmah when dealing with such matters. I think it would help if you had genuine reasons for seeking a second wife...

Of course I am serious but my question was about getting a second car...lol.... but I ll keep in mind what you just said about getting a second wife. Don't tell the first one, just have it as suprise....
