Souad Massi in London

Souad Massi, young Algerian artist, has a unique voice and stage presence. Her natural mastery of words and languages has conjured up something rare, universal and indefinable, that go straight to the heart!

She sings in Arabic with a sweet and pure voice. The songs, inspired by her Algerian roots, are a mix of folk and rock . With her golden voice and sparkling talent, she creates a delicate and harmonious Algerian folk rock sometimes imbued with militant lyrics. Her first two albums "Deb" and "Raoui", mixing folk, rock'n'roll and Arabo-Andalusian music, with electric and acoustic instruments, were very success ful in France and internationally.
« Massi’s songs are rendered irresistible by a combination of gorgeous melodies, sumptuously multicultural instrumentation and a production that glitters. It’s the most affecting tear-jerker you’ll hear this year. »The Guardian
Souad Massi's new album "Mesk Elil" (Wrasse Records) is released worldwide on 24th October. Souad will perform at the Marquee Club in London on November 23rd !!! Surely not to be missed !!!

HER NEW ALBUM

'Mesk Eli' is Souad Massi's her third album, and is perhaps her most beautiful to date. The album features the tender, languishing folk that captivated listeners for the last few years with her previous recordings - 'Raoui' and the breakthrough album 'Deb'. Mesk Eli (Honeysuckle) is a record of rich, varied nuances, shining with all Souad Massi's hypersensitivity and sincerity that will delight her existing fans and is guaranteed to win her a whole lot more.

Track listing

1. Mesk Elil

3. Ilham

4. Manensa Asli

5. Dar Dgedi

6. Denia Wezmen

7. Tell Me Why

am not sure if i can go and see her as its druing the week,
Souad Massi is far more better then the rest, she’s the most knowing Arab singer in Europe and most of her songs are in Arabic, she was also nominated for the best Arab singer in the last 3 years (khaled won them) download the song Ya Klbii and let me know what you think, her style is different from any other music that I heard.
Amel bent is half Algerian (from her dad) and half Moroccan (from her mum)
Nadyia is Algerian , wallen is good (shes morrocan)
