he's a full-blown wife-beater. He used to drink and beat her up. I hope its stopped.

A smile covers a multitude of sadness. From what i understand of him he had quite a hard time for most of his early career and maybe even still has now. Due to the content/nature of his songs he had to leave his home country and his music was even banned by the Algerian government until 1983!

Im sure he has had a hard life

But its a damn lot better than most.
No excuse for wife-beating. He does look drunk in these pics.
I do like some of his music though.
