shipping and registering a car in Morocco

hi all,

i am planning to ship a car from Dubai to Morocco so i can use it during my visits to morocco (4-5 times a year). the car will be in Rabat and i want to register it under my moroccan friend name.

i have two enquries:
1- what are the procedures and fees after shipping the car to morocco?
2- what are the procedures and fees for registering the car?

BTW, the car is 2003 Toyota Rav4 (4 doors), becuse it will be less expensive than buying a second hand car.

well, the shipping processes may differ and i will contact the moroccan couslate,
but waht about the registration process in morocco and fees, i think these would be common. any help?

You can also visit and/or ask the Moroccan customs authority directly about importing and registration the car:
Douane or by email to:
adii@douane.gov.ma

Hi - I will read the regulations and keep you posted in the next 2 days, in the mean time here's few facts about importing a car to Morocco:

1. All vehicles are highly dutiable
2. Permission to circulate is granted for 3 months, beyond this point the Customer must pay Customs duty or export the vehicle
3. Documents required:
- Import License
- Original car license
- Passport
- Auto paperwork
- Invoice
