Eleven people died and 34 were injured, including 11 seriously, in a road accident that occurred early Monday at Ain Toto, near Meknčs, when a bus skidded and rolled on its back.
The vehicle, carrying 55 people, was travelling from Al Hoceima (northeast) to Casablanca.
The Gendarmerie Royale blamed the accident on the driver's reckless driving and his non respect of the Road code.
In the latest deadly accident that occurred in Morocco, seven French tourists, including six women, died and 43 others were injured after a coach carrying tourists collided with a car in the province of Taroudant.
During the last ten years, road accidents increased by 3% every year, causing enormous economic losses. They cost the State about USD 1.2 billion a year, 2.5% of the GDP.
In 2004, 3,894 people were killed in road accidents in Morocco, registering a drop for the first time in ten years.
