Thumbs up

The International Monetary Fund has urged Morocco to undertake further reforms in a bid cut poverty and an urban unemployment level of about 19%.
IMF managing director Rodrigo Rato was speaking after meeting government ministers in the capital Rabat.

He praised efforts since the 1990s to integrate into the world economy.

"I have encouraged the authorities to accelerate structural reforms to increase productivity and private investment," he added.

Morocco achieved an economic growth rate of 4.6% between 2001 and 2004 but analysts say it needs to reach 6% to ensure sufficient job creation.

Mr Rato said the importance of curbing Morocco's debt and budget deficit was also on the agenda.

"We shared the belief that strengthening public finances is needed to enhance private sector confidence, alleviate tax burdens and foster investment," he said.

the IMF as the world bank are juss bullsh!t, pressure tools. they don't take into account the inside environment but rather request some unrealizable objectives. it's true that morocco needs some social reforms but it certainly needs time, resources, and money. you cannot have a socially stable country without it being economically stable, and Morocco isn't.

more DEBT, more POVERTY

peace
