Four Moroccan soldiers fled after 18 years of detention "Polisario" jails located in Tindouf, South-West Algeria, and succeeded in returning home on foot, safe.
Two of the soldiers told on Monday they had, along with other prisoners, suffered untold physical and psychological torture in the camps of shame, namely in the Rabouni and « June 9 » prisons.
They said they were since 1987 frequently beaten with electric cables and were deprived of food and sleep and to humiliate them they were left naked.
They also said the "Polisario » gang, at the instigation of Algerian authorities, used to force them to do harsh work under the threat of violence in the day and the night as well, adding the situation « made them flee » the camps, though they knew the four of them could die.
