I did not see house of wax .. and honestly I don't expect a lot from Paris Hilton and her buddies..

Kung fu hustle was good...

it was kinda rediculous but that was what the director wanted.. it's actually a kind of mythology .. you can see it at the end how the Good defeated Evil ... it was also funny, exagerating and unusual .. i love unusual films..

I love unusual too,but that film was just DUMB!!..the jokes were dry and the slapstick humour was so OTT it was just embarassing!
I didn't realize it was the same director that did Shanghai Soccer because that was a pile of old tosh too!!
I will watch almost anything but these films were too painful to sit through, some foreign humour does NOT translate,I work with a lot of oriental people and they agree regarding these films. Give me a proper martial arts film anytime!

yes foreign humor does not translate always good .. but that's the best part of it .. unusualness .. chinese craziness .. it is the kind of "rediculous humour" of Shanghai soccer .. sometimes when somebody tells you a too rediculous joke you could laugh as well .. and Austin Powers belong to this category of managed rediculousness .. and you know the huge Tom Cruise appeared in Austin Powers ..

If you want some serious piece of Chinese cinema with martial arts you have to watch Hero (with Jet Li) this a huge chinese movie with a rich script and absolutely fantastic panoramas and costumes and of course sword fights.. Hero had the biggest Budget in the history of films shot in China ... it's fantastic i loved it very much ...
