The Battle of Algiers

Salaam All,

I just wanted to say what an excellent film The Battle of Algiers is, it’s a classic in my opinion shot almost in a documentary style giving it more realism. After watching the film I started to wonder why we don’t see films made by Moroccans on recent Moroccan history and in particular hero figures like Abdelkrim El-khatabi and others. Films like these not only entertain but more importantly educate which is why it’s important that the growing Moroccan film industry start making films with a historical aspect to them rather than simply making films about current society.
