Exclamation do not call people names/la tassob a nass

salam
we may be aware of words and profanity !
but we may sense it in the arab world..
sometimes words like
AHMAK/CRAZY
HAMKA/crazy"female"
we may hear some one saying
hahaha hmeeka ..in arabic and the beauty of it that you can make words smaller "reducing them makes their profanity become less insulting..
so if you hear it it is not like if you feel it .!!!
read people's face and look at them in the eyes .
hmeeka is not profanity if used with a smile!
a father can call his lil doughter so when saying a weird thing or doing so..
so please be very res^ponsible when talking to people and avoid..jokes if you do not know how!?
ask me
ANY QUESTIONS ..HUMM yes please!naam arjouk!

Smile darija & Modern Standard Arabic

Labas alike,

In all due respect. I agree that the "native" common language of Morocco, should be the language conveyed/taught here on the network, which is Darija. This is a dialect that you cannot find in a book store. Modern Standard and Classical Arabic you can. Or Koran. As all Arabic speaking countries are taught Koran.

I know, I am American and I lived in Morocco for an entire Summer approximately 2-years ago. But, unfortunately, you either use the language or you lose it. Now, the city I currently live in is becoming more heavily populated with Moroccans. Which is great!

The Moroccan-Arabic is more French/Berber influenced so there is more of a "roll-of-the tongue/throat" in the pronounciation of words.

Also, I would suggest that words are kept together vs. breaking them up, as the English language is hooked on phonics and a lot of the Moroccan-Arabic is pronounced via syllables. For example: ShouKran (shou-kran) Thank you.

Bslama..

Cool hi everyone

salaam/azul/hello
well you must know that a true darija is not french !
you may be referring to the one that mix Arabic with french just like the Spanglish...
Moroccan language is a mixture of those who are Moroccan cultural mixture in another word
darija is tamazight/Arabic /slight of Aramaic or Hebrew
believe it or not that is the truth..people in Fez speak Aramaic they do not know as well as Hebrew words..
i hope you are satisfied because you seem not to be
but that is good!
you have asked me what i needed houda to say ..even thou i knew what she meant...by family but one must be specific
