Robbery

Abour a month or two ago a man came into grocery store with a bat and wanted money. The shop keeper pulled out his shotgun he had behind the counter. The robber begged for mercy. The shopkeeper prayed with the robber for him to change his life. The shopkeeper gave the masked robber $40.00 and a loaf of bread. The robber had said he just needed food for his family. He told the shopkeeper that because of him he was going to become a Muslim. The shop keeper's name is Mohammed.
Last night the shopkeeper was on the news again. The robber mailed him a letter and thanked him. The robber said the shopkeeper changed his life around and has since become a Muslim and now has a good job. Enclosed with the letter was $50.00. Mohammed was really touched. I thought you might like to know the story. The robber was never identified.
This was on the New York news and I beleive the shop is in New York City. I saw the video of the robber with the bat, the shop keeper with his shotgun and then the robber dropped to his knees and then they were praying.

This is an interesting piece, I think a shotgun would always win over a bat...but if the robber saw the error of his ways alls the good. It a sad state of affairs when shopkeepers feel the need to have shotguns in order to protect their property, and indeed sad that others feel they have no other course of action than threaten violence in order to get what they want. The fact that he was doing this in order to feed his family is a reflection on society in general in failing to care for those in need who for one reason or another are unable to care for themselves. If on the other hand he was out to rob as he sees that as an easy option to get by in life on the hard work of others, then I think he deserves to be dealt with acording to the law.
