وإن تكن الأبدان للموت أُنشئت فقتل امرئ بالسيف في الله أفضلُ

وإن تكن الأرزاق قسماً مقدراً فقلّة حرص المرء في الكسب أجمل

وإن تكن الأموال للترك جمعها فما بال متروك به المرء يبخل

If the world is counted valuable;
then surely the house of God's rewards is higher and more worthy.

If bodies were created for death;
then surely being killed with swords in the way of God is more honorable.

If the share of daily sustenance of each creature is apportioned;
then surely little greed in endeavors is more beautiful.

If wealth is amassed for one day to be left;
why then does a free man becomes so miserly for that which he has to leave?
