Now this is for the women to answer.

Being new to Islam I have heard differant opinions on things. But I want to debate it out here. According to beliefs..

Is it ok to pluck your eyebrows?

How about painting nails? Having long or fake nails?

Dying hair? Having shorter hair?

Make-up?

Short sleeved shirts when not in mosque or praying?

These are just a few questions I have

Huggles,
Criossa

I hope Allah will bless you and enlighten you criossa ....keep up to your faith it is the most preciouse thing you ever had ....

I am afraid criossa that this is not the right forum for you to hang out in especially if you want to learn about Islam , most of us here are certainly just a bunch of losers with a lot of time that we spend in nonsense , so I do not think we will be a good example for you ....on the other hand there are several good islamic sites some for new converts where you can ask as many questions as you have , I know that you are in a stage in which you need to ask questions and learn and that's normal , you already have made the first step which is a great effort and I congratulate you for that ...unfortunately I do not recall the URLs of islamic sites but the first one that crosses my mind at this moment is this one : http://english.islamway.com/
I am sure there are several good ones over there just google for them or ask around in the islamic forums for english speaking people ....Good luck criossa ...!!!!!

Criossa,
Al hamdu lil Allah that you embarced Islam. It has been a long time that I did not come back to this forum but I remember you and we had so many discussion on Quran and sunnat of prophet Mohamed peace be upon him and if I am not mistaken you were looking for an Italian version of the Quran back then. Again al hamdu lil Allah (thank God) that you found your way. It will be a long and rewarding way for you to keep learning about this treasure that Allah subhanahu wa ta'3ala has bestowed on you.
Again, sister, I would really advice you to keep on learning about Islam BUT please do it from/thru scholars and not thru this board. I would suggest that you try this link: http://www.islamalways.com this link belongs to brother Youssef Estes a former christian priest.
May Allah subhanhu wa ta'3ala guides us all to His right path and keep us on it. Ameen.

Thanks

First thank you for the sites. I spend most of my internet time on islamic sites.

But the reason I asked was just to see what others thoughts were on these questions. What their beliefs were on these. I have met many muslimahs over the years and everyone was differant. And I am lucky enough that I have a wonderful masjid (though small) to go to. So I have learned alot from the women there.

I am just eager to learn for myself as well as my children. And I feel like a sponge I want to absorb all I can.
