In its time no one in the Roman would would imagaine this incident (death and resurrection) would over time come to outlive and overshadow the Roman Empire.

But in Rome, the center of Western civilization at the time, the Judean incident was of no significance. It was only a local incident far away from the center of administration.

Hi, "haqq".

It doesn't really matter what day of the week Jesus died on. The bible doesn't say, and it doesn't much matter to me.

Do you want to know something interesting about the whole question of when Jesus died--not the day of the week, but the year?

The book of Daniel in the old testament talks about the "annointed one" (masiH, you know). Daniel predicts his coming. It says that "seventy sevens" are prophesied from the destruction of the temple until the annointed one will "atone for wickedness, bring in everlasting righteousness, seal up vision and prophecy, and put on end to sacrifice and burnt offering". The seventy sevens are a certain number of years, we believe.

If you multiply 70x7, you get 490 years. The temple was destroyed in 444 B.C. 490 after that would be in the thirties A.D.--and if Jesus was born in about 1 A.D. and lived to be about 33 as the new testament says, then you can see that that prophecy would make perfect sense if it were talking about the "annointed one" Jesus, indeed, because he did indeed atone for all our wickedness, bring us all everlasting righteousness, put an end to sacrifices and prophecies.

An interesting prophecy, I think. It's in Daniel 7, I'm fairly sure, if you would like to check it out yourself.

Thanks
I understand that people will always try to defend their believes by trying to justify some passages. God forbid if I sound that I am critising your judgement on the matter as Only God is the Most Knowlegable and I am a human and weak and ignorant of the unseen. I just don;t like humans to justify God's words that means something else.
That was Daniel(pbuh)'s Dream If I am correct and can mean completly different things
---------------------------------------------------------
1 In the first year of King Belshazzar of Babylon, Daniel had a dream as he lay in bed, and was terrified by the visions of his mind. Then he wrote down the dream; the account began...........
----------------------------------------------------
[9-10] A vision of the heavenly throne of God (the Ancient One)...........
------------------------------------
But thanks anyway and you are right it does not matter

Hi.

I deeply appreciate your desire to know God; it is commendable. I can see that you are full of desire to be close to him.

I also applaud you for recognizing your ignorance and weakness--we are all very weak and very ignorant in the presence of God. Many people (including myself at times) don't grasp that.

I am very happy about this. I do believe that Jesus is what makes it possible for the weak and the ignorant to be up close and personal with God.

Yes, it was inappropriate and blasphemous that God in human flesh would suffer and die. There are no words to describe how wrong it is. But he did it because it was also innappropriate and blasphemous for us, the weak and the ignorant, to ever enter heaven, when we are all weak and incapable of attaining what glorifies God.

Thank you so much for your interest, "haqq".

Peace be upon to you
Indeed I like to be close to God and Truelly can not wait to meet him despite the numbers of sins i have, Although deep in my heart I feel that he has already eraze them all for me but since I am not 100% sure I carry on striving to do good deeds. even a smile is a good deed.
in the Quran
God said tell my believer whoever wants to meet me I am ready to meet them and whoever does not want to meet me I do not want to meet them either(my poor translation). The point here is that anyone who want to meet God, God hears and sees him and will help him to find the truth. that person will be very happy to meeet God because he knows he is right and knows he is sinfull and weak and knowes God is the Most Mercifull and most understanding. as to the devils and their followers they hate meeting God because deep down they know they have nothing to answer or to give, so they drug themselves in hope of forgetting that dreadfull day where they would have to explain their deeds.

A man asked the prophet(pbuh) how can I be happy and be on the right track the answer was 3 times(Do not be angry Do not be angry Do not be angry)
Let us all take that as an advice and help each others in Finding Our God
May God the Almighty guide us to the correct path Amen

Greetings.

Again, your desire for God is so commendable. I appreciate it very much.

God the Almighty, as you know is very great and is so far above us and our perverse minds. It would be blasphemous for someone like me, who has thought evil thoughts and hated people in my heart, to be in heaven with God who is perfect. I know you understand this well, and again, I commend you.

So Jesus died as God in human flesh to erase the blasphemy by being a blasphemy--making himself ugly in order to make us, who are ugly, beautiful with him in heaven. I believe that because he died it is the only way possible or he would never have done it. So his love for us is deep--costing him his own life. He did this so that people like us who know that we never will be able to deserve God never have to try to be better, never have to strive, never have to worry about whether or not we will go be with him in heaven. But rather he has opened the door to heaven by being the blasphemous curse of crucifixtion so that now I live in freedom knowing that God has called me righteous because I trust in his sacrifice, which he has offered us.
