"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows" (James 1:17).

Although I personally do not observe Valentine Day, today it is taken simply as a day to express your love for your beloved. No one think or put ancient meaning to it. For many it has become a cultural thing like birthdays.

You are no better or worse for observing or not observing Valentine Day. JUST ANOTHER DAY --- OR AN OPPORTUNITY TO POP THE QUESTION, OR WIN HER HEART.

Example: if I buy a used car, I don't care whether the previous owner was a Satanist or a Saint. To me it is simply a car to get me around. My relationship with God is not affected by whether the previous owner was a Satanist or a Saint.

Don't put religion into everything to scare people or to control people. I read the news that in India extremist Hindus are trying to prevent love-struck young people from observing Valentine Day.

That is true but theja the problem is that Valentine and other celebration are not intended to bring people together in fact it does the opposit. If a man wanted to spoil his wife then that is beautiful but he should not have to wait for a day set by Man to do that. Every little love helps and constant love is better than a fake one. also the media makes things so difficult that if you do not celebrate it you end up being very guilty.

tt, I see you do have a valid point. So treat the day as another day, or as a reminder to express one's love to the beloved.

One should have the freedom not to celebrate it and feel OK about it, as you implied. Good. On the other hand, let those who use this day to toss cupid darts at their sweethearts feel OK too.
