That's an interesting point about the Prayers. Is there no provision in the Islamic faith for Muslim children who attend Public (multicultural) schools to deviate from the rigid Prayer schedules that adult Muslims must (should) follow?

can you Imagine a muslim kid having to take time off to perform a prayer and let his friends who are non muslims being locked up in classrooms where is the Justice? how about friday Prayer?
Plus others issues that contradict Islamic teachings? Bear In mind islam is a way of live not a religion you can join now and then.

Can these schools deliver the National Curriculum ?

Do they offer equal opportunities to boys and girls ?

Are they financially viable ?

Is there a demand from parents ?

Is there a need for new places in the area they serve ?

Mr Peel may say what he wants. It is still a fact that culturally exclusive institutions feed tensions in urban centres. And as you know, for that reason I'm saying that the state should not pay for any variety of religious schools, be they Muslim Jewish, Christian or anything else.
