Salaam
There is a great confusion facing the ummah of Islam nowadays. many people keep praying to God which is a great thing to do but neglect the main orders at the same times. What are the main orders Allah instructed us to do? Do Halal things and avoid haram what is halal? anything that is lawful ie pure things that brings peace and harmony to the body and soul in a community Haram is what is forbidden according to the Islamic laws i.e. drinking Alcohol having illegal sex stealing gambling's etc....basically whatever Satan do to make us forget about God and create war and division. according to the Quran A person is weak therefore whatever one does he will always make mistakes no matter how good he is and examples of that are very clear. take the case of Moses(pbuh).I he killed a human being and became a Prophet etc................... but as long as a person remembers that Allah accepts anyone who comes to him no matter how many sins he has committed and repent that is the greatest achievement. It brings peace and free himself of guilt and move forwards and end war and division. Sounds very simple? Today Many Muslims are too selfish no matter how good they are. instead of doing good deeds they insist on looking after themselves and forget that given a meal to a strangers who is hungry is probably 1000 times better than sitting in a mosque telling others how to pray properly although it's good to do but it's is not a priority comparing to feeding another person. That person could for instance do some community work free of charge Another people spends days teaching others things that anyone with common sense should be able to learn by himself unless he wishes to learn more. I personally think that as long as one remembers that Allah exist every minute and that satan is his enemy and does what he can to fulfil his duties accordingly he should not have to worry whether wearing aftershave or how a certain person dresses in early years of Islam or how to take a bath or what to say before jumping in the water etc... I think that the scholars have concentrated more on minor issues and forgot the major ones which is poverty, war cheating etc.... The five pillars are a must. that alone would take us to heaven one day but to avoid hell the actions on this earth are the problem how to avoid them? doing good deeds eliminate bad deeds because prayers are enough to seek repentance but to achieve a good status others matter more. what matters the most is what we do in this life because God instructed us to be good to others and not to create evil and wars things like have I help a sick person this week? did I go out of my way to help my community by doing charity works etc..... people once went complaining to our Prophet(SAWS) saying that a certain person spends all his time in the mosque and neglect his duties in this dunya, he asked them who fed him and they replied them, he said they are better than him. I want to ask you whether you agree with me on the final definition as best as I can understand the Quran says that anyone who worship God and does good deeds will have his award in the hereafter To me that means doing the 5 pillars and help others I am saying that because i see people spending so much money building mosques in Muslims countries and also going to Hajj so many times instead of looking at priorities and building hospitals and feeding the poor instead to stop diseases and poverty which is the worst crime in Islam. Lately I decided that certain things are no longer important to me anymore things like listening to music having a beard or wearing long or baggy clothes etc.. I decided to do what I feel is good for me as long as my action does not promote evil or harm my body or soul. treating all humans as the same and harming anyone even with a bad word is the same whether they are believers no believers, some people try to divide communities i find that wrong. it creates division and does not help Islam Please tell me what you think are your priorities? |

In my opinion its all relative. It depends on the person themselves, for example building a hospital and supporting people are sometimes more important than building a mosque or teaching someone. However in other instances the education of Salah is more important because it continues the practices of Islam, Imams and building mosques are also important because at their minimum they serve as a reminder to us of our religion. For someone weak in their imam hearing a Adhan may just prevent him from committing a sign, because they were reminded of the presence of Alllah SWT. I didnt mean to confine myself to those examples given in your post but they served as demonstration of my point.
I think that ultimately it comes down to what suits you as an individual as you said, without overstepping the boundaries of religion. Islam is a religion of peace and it is not there to make ones life difficult but rather to enhance it and make it more pleasurable ![]() Ma salam

Salam Sista
Thanks for the input I agree but we need to concentrate more on peace rather than of whose who hates God etc..Children of Israel took 300 years of abuse and suffering from Pharaon before being saved by Moses(pbuh). If you leave the trouble aside and promote love and peace and fogive the wrong doers for God's sake than maybe we can win a desperate situation and defeat Satan. every good deed is a blessing and a lost to Satan and his evil temptations. Sadly some people think the priorities is worship but forget that Pleasing your partner/parents.. neighbours are acts of worship |
