Monya, Zakat is an obligation ordained by Allah upon every Muslim who becomes the owner of a specific amount of wealth. I assume you’re a student as you’re mother pays zakat on you’re behalf.

nah im no student, i earn a wages, which i y i have asked bcoz i think a must that i have to pay now, yes/no?

Monya, yes you have to pay zakat as it is fard for you to pay as per the five pillars of Islam.
