Well now brothers and sister,

Seeing as thought lovely Souad made a post about Niqab, then we certainly need a thread about “THE BEARD”. Insha Allah we can allow the brothers to speak .

Wa Salam

Cool

Salamma3likoum All,

Inshallah one day in the near future I will grow my beard.

I see brother Amr Khaled not growing his beard? Is there any reason for why he does not grow it?

Allah y hdeena...

Salam brother Khalid,

I was watching an interview with Brother Amr, may Allah reward him for his efforts in the way of islam, the other day. He stated that the reason he feels that he should not grow the beard is because of the fact that he does Da3wa, and he feels that his image shoudl be approachable and watchable. He stated himself that when he was younger, he'd see the Shyoukh in their beards and Islamic dress and feel that they were being dogmatic, and did not want to listen to them.

What you have to take into consideration Khalid, is that brother Amr is an amazing brother Masha Allah, who's jihad in this Dunya is solely for Da3a. I do believe that he allowed to stay the way that he is because of this fact. If you've ever seen his khoutbas in Hajj, he has the full beard and Ihram, but he is appealing to an older audience.

Brother, i don't think we should make excuses for our actions just because 'others don't do so'. No one is accountable for anyone elses sins. I can say the same fro hijab when I see fake mutahaijabat indulging in sins, but I don't.

Wa Salam

Walaikoum Salam Brother~K~

Amr Khaled use to have a beard. However, I remember in one of his programmes he was questioned about not growing his beard. He mentioned that yes it is Sunnah and the beard alone cannot ensure true Iman but at the same time he strongly believe that a man with true imaan always wears a beard. However, due to dawah work, young wo/men and non Muslim wo/men alike find him more approachable without the beard.

Asslam Alaikoum Sister~Z~

Do you not think its a pity that there are muslim men who force their women to wear Hijab but continue to remain free from obligations like beard for themselves ?

Unfortunately there are muslim sisters also who intensely discourage their men to look like a muslim.

Wa Salam
