Does anybody know whether surahs from the Koran have to be recited in ascending order during salaat . I know that when reading the Koran one can turn to whatever page and read whatever surah u feel like in no particular order, can the same be done in salaat?

Firstly, I had to move your thread to the appropriate section.

Back to the question recitation in salah should always be in sequence and it is makruh to intentionally recite contrary to sequence. However doing so does not invalidate the salah.

Shoukrane sis!!! I posted it up on the open board in order to get a quicker response Tell me do u have any backing from Koran and hadith to suport this?

It doesn't make sense to me as the Koran was not revealed in the order that it is today (Iqra for eg was the first ever revelation to the Prophet SAW but is towrads the end of the Koran today) and the Prophet SAW and sahaabah read the surahs in salaat as and when they were revelealed


I'm not arguing for the sake of it - just looking for hadith to back up what u said!

you can also use a verse from a Bible if needed
