Simple: I didnt say there is anything wrong with her post, I just questioned her intentions and reasons behind posting it as I personally didnt see any point in it. She is entitled to voice her opinions about Muslims, and I dont dispute that, I just think she could have been a little more tactful as people were clearly offended and didnt respond well to her post. I didn't disrespect her or put her down in any way like some few others did, I was just saying I hope she rethinks her decision and returns to Islam. I am confused why u chose to respond to my reply rather than to others which were offensive and much harsher! It's funny how politely inviting someone to the deen, or posting a few verses from the Quran can provoke a bigger reaction than name calling and quarreling.

LalaAisha: Aisha, if i offended you with my thread then I apologise but I really dont see that I have said anything rude or disrespectful to you.

Salam Samira

I understood your post form the beginning,so no I don't have any bones to pick with you.To answer your question,I posted here becasue it was in response to Tihad and I wanted serious replies, which is why I posted here and not the open forum. As Simple has said, this section is not an online mosque anyone is free to post anything concerning Islam as long as it is not bashing islam, which is not what I did. I simply stated my opinion, which is not up for discussion but people are free to think what they like.

Selam Hattushil, could you explain this poem please, and can you paste the Turkish version of it if you have it.[/quote]

Selam to you too,the original text of the above poem is as below...

Ciktim erik dalina
Anda yedim uzumu
Bostan issi kakiyip
Der,ne yersin kozumu.

As for the explanation of the above poem,Yunus here means that every deed (tree) has a special kind of fruit. "Prune", "grape" and "nut" refer respectively to the Divine Law, "$eriat", to the mystical Path, "tariqat", and the Divine Reality, "haqiqat". One eats the outer parts of the prune but not its interior, whatever is like the prune corresponds to the outward aspect of actions. The grape is eaten and many delicious examples of Turkish cuisine are made of it. Though a few remains of hypocrisy (vinegar vs. wine), fame , and other unwanted attributes exist in the grape , it is still on the Path to the Reality. The nut is completely a symbol of Reality for the interior of the nut has nothing to be thrown away and it is the remedy for many illnesses, whereas the outer part, a symbol for the Self, is totally useless, and must be discarded possibly through a lot of suffering.I hope this satisfies your curiosity..
