If Mortgages are harram, how about the freaking RENT????

can anyone tell me please??? if my mortgage payment is cheaper than renting the same place, why would choosing the better deal be harram? if so, then it's very stupid in my opinion

Hi Cowboy,

Its the Interest paid with the Mortgage that is haram. There is no interest paid whilst renting.

Simple,

The better is not always the better deal in the long run.

Yes you'll be owning your own home in the dunya, but giving up your home in the akhirah. There are other ways of owning halal things, using Riba is not one of them.

Islamic mortgages are a way of doing so.

But simple... aren't houses in the US cheaper. Over here it's around $360,000 for a one-bedroom apartment.

so students can't get a loan to go school and do something with their lives??? why? why Islam prohibit that kind of loan?

and if someone is carrying a credit card in case of an emergency? why is that harram ?? why


These kind of issues that I have problem with Islam and its followers. Muslims follow anything, regardless if it makes sense or not.

Riba is one thing, Mortgage is a complete different thing.
