Thank you for writing that post because no-one else bothered to actually give any proof.
I do try to be a good muslim, try being the important word.
Anyone who says they are wonderful muslims is lying if they still ***** about others and make fun.
My life and the things i do are between me and Allah (SWT) and therefore i justify myself to no-one except him..... and ofcourse my parents

Hbiba -

As muslims we dont preach to one another (no one is perfect) its more a case of giving advice.

You have said it yourself, Allah SWT is the only one you are accountable to, when the life of this world has ended every individual will pass over with only their book of deeds to see them through. It makes sense to see that it is filled with more good than bad .

There is a lot of comparisions going on, muslims doing this others doing that, other peoples actions dont serve as a justification for indulging in it. It isnt about condeming people for the way they chose to live their life, it is there life and they have the right to do as they please, its perhaps more important to show them that there are other ways.

Only a final note, everyone does sin, the important thing is to realise when that has happened and endevour to stop it. Not to use it as an excuse for committing it in the first place!

The Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) forbade usury. One of the better-known ahadith, narrated by Ibn Mas'ud, quotes the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam), saying, "Allah has cursed the receiver, the giver of the interest and also the witness and the scribe of the interest-bearing transaction; they are alike." (Muslim, Tirmidhi).

I really don't know what your talking about. If a mortgage is haram then why the hell do so many muslim people choose to have one?! must they all rot in hell because they don't want to rent for the rest of their lives.
If getting a mortgage is haram then book me a ticket to the hell fire cos i am certainly getting one. I would rather 'sin' that way then get completely drunk or stoned every week.
Stop telling us whats right or wrong, if Khalid wants to try a mortgage then let him. Your not going to live with him so why is it your business?
Quite frankly i find you rude, patronizing and a bore.
You are not a wonderful or perfect muslim so don't preach to us. At the end of the day I probably know more about Islam than you.

One more thing. Don't be sarcastic when it comes to my sister, because you will have me to deal with.

Asslam Alaikoum

No Hbiba, you’ve taken this way out of context. My post to Faith :” We’re awaiting in anticipation for you daleel.” Is simply that, as we know mortgages are haram because they are based on interest and if anyone has any information to prove otherwise, we can all then chew on the information and take this discourse further insha Allah. Unfortunately, living in London the standard of livings are high and like brother Khalid said this is proving to be difficult especially living in London.

And finally, this is a place where we all can learn from each other and no one in this Islamic section is claiming to better than one other. At the end of day no one is here to judge each other. However, when you are aware that either your brother/sister is doing something unacceptable in Islam then it is our responsibility as Muslims/Muslimahs to help them and explain the reasons why it’s sinful etc. Surely, this is better and more reawardful than keeping something in your heart and not correcting our brother/sister ?

Unfortunately, we are now digressing with this topic, so if anyone has anything to contribute insha Allah regarding Mortgages in Islam please provide the daleel.

Baraq Allah feeqom

Your Sister in Islam

i was told that mortgages are not haram because this is not a muslim country and their way of life is different to muslims. but we live in this country and even though we try hard to keep our muslim ways and do things that god told us, it is not always possible. everythin to do with money in this country is to do with interest, u cant help that. it is a good thing when u buy a house because you are thinking about ur family's future and its better than payin thousands of pounds on rent when you can get a house with that money.

Assalm Alaikoum R-G,

Unfortunately, there are some Muslims who out dunya before the akhirah. This world is only temporary and this needs to be firmly ingrained in our hearts.

And Allah reminds us, for we are prone to forget:

“And whosoever keeps his duty to Allah, Allah will appoint a way out for him, And will provide for him from (a quarter) whence he has no expectation. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice him. Lo! Allah brings His command to pass. Allah has set a measure for all things. ”[65.2-3]

And Allah alone gives success.

Wa Salam
