I have been involved in a way of that stuff in the past and refrain myself talking about it as it;s ugly haram and not beneficial. in summary it's a work of shaytan.
But i will tell you how it all works:
When Allah(SWT)Speaks to angels about humans.Satan or it's troops sneak to listen if they get caught they get burnt by a shooting star,and that little piece of info get passed to the shawafatts who then made them sound like the future in return they get a group of people who Ignore Allah(SWT)commands, everything is ellusion nothing is real, the most requests happenes to be the slaughting of a black or fairless hen and a mixture of wierd herbs.
possession can only happen if one is emontionally weak or have no faith.

Your response is exactly the same thing Christians say about Santeria and Vodou. I say it is prejudice,I don't care how many verses from the Qur'an and Bible one uses.

I do respect your personal beliefs,and I understand that what I asked is a very sensitive subject. It is the same when asking a Latino about Santeria,for example.
But to respond to your last statement,actually,these people have plenty of faith,and their faith is their life.And the world would benefit greatly from studying those herbs to find cures for cancer and AIDS...

Let me quckly tell you that you can be the richest person the famous etc... travel from Seatle to kuwala lapoor with your money for a treatment and still no guarentee because it's up to Allah, i have to go and pick my kids from school but will talk later as to why i said that.

It is true that for those illnesses that have no formal cure,that one can say that it is in God's hands. But that does not mena that one should not continue to search in the Amazon for a cure.I think that you are insinuating that people who practice native faiths and healing practices,are trying to be God. That is not so. They beleive as you do,that God is all powerful. Actually,they tend to beleive that God as a whole entity is remote,and that it is better to go through the gods(that is with smaller g)who themselves get their power through God. It is a heirarchy. Now I don't expect you to understand that,because Muslims like Christians are taught that one can pray to God directly. Well praying to saint and demi gods is still praying to God,just the longer way around.
