my dad just bought me back a beautiful sharbil, burnt orange w/a gold irridescent shimmer from Marrakech.They have by far the best selection there.(cheaper than fi shamal too)

But what is the difference between kaftan, djelaba and takchita?

Even calls them different things but in essence isnt kaftan and takcita one and the same.


The best thing about all of these clothings is that you can get one off orignal pieces, designed as you wish and tailor made to fit. Last summer i chose the material and design for a djelaba and had it made in the space of about 3 weeks (peak summer time, so very quick!!). The tailors in Maroc are, in my experience very good, you can have lots of individual pieces such as tops, and skirts made there which look fab and are incredibly reasonable.
