Funny you should say that H cos' mine are ready-to-wear bought by my beloved in Casa

I really can't be dealing with all that khayat business for jellabas & jabadors (& to a certain extent Kaftans) because I can't be dealing with going back & forth & waiting forever esp as I usually go to Morocco for 1 or 2 weeks nowaways. Get mine ready-to-wear from a couple of places in Rabat. Recently discovered Marjane in Marrakech does beldi & its really very good stuff so I treated myself there too

Tachitats are a different ball game because ready-to-wear tend to be made for giants or medium height women who like their clothes to wipe the floor

As for orange - I have an orange, khaki & cream one but is actually pretty cool. I would buy either of the ones you've posted too. Like burnt orange. Is the final pic a jellaba without a hood? I like that style.

Smile Jellaba rules

Houda nice to know you and others appreciate the Jellaba.

It's so comfortable to wear and very versatile which you can't say about the suit. The modern day suit reflects almost the antithesis of the Jellaba. The Jellaba has flowing elegant lines while the suit is rigid and stiff, the Jellaba is comfortable to wear whereas the suit isn't especially during the summer.

I've also noticed the Jellaba is worn by more and more non Moroccans – who blames them a beautiful design has no national boundaries.

Peace.

Salam Khoya,

Not only do I appreciate the Jelba, I welcome the Caftans, the Tachitats, the blaghee, the cusine, the people, OUR HERITAGE

Speaking of Non~ Moroccans, {esp the French} the Jelba is seen as more of a bohemian look. And I love dressing it up with ethnic jewellery

~G ~

All my Moroccan outfits are made in Casablanca, and I get them sent there and returned to me. I suppose it’s all about loyal contacts.I love Mariane too, it’s wicked

Your lucky to find ready made to wear Jelabas, as the ones I like and try on ,have the shape of an onion bag

I have an olive green bling, bling Tachitats, I have a cream one to made from Chinese silk, that cost abit, so you have one to, Lalla Arousa ?

The final picture, is a Kaftan, but as I said above, would make a lovely Jelaba with/out a kob. Would look good as a 3/4 Length Jelaba with trousers and boots.

~K~

You need to take a day trip to Brussels, and buy a ready made one, with the latest fashion. Layers go well with very slim and tall women. And don’t forget the Jewellery either

Houda,
Cream silk sounds fab but I just don't suit the colour. Am a bit pasty & even with fake tan, it's just not a colour which suits me. Maybe without a hijab yes but with it - too much cream makes me even more sallow Have pale gold one instead

I like the boho & modern versions of jellabas etc. Makes them more wearable to me. Different shapes, fabrics etc. While I like traditional shapes & stuff, I like a bit of originality if I'm going to spend big money on evening wear. Even more so with daywear. Mix & match beldi & Western clothing.

Like Andalousi says, everyone loves our stuff. I find that you get stopped in the street a lot by people wanting to know where you got your stuff from I know what you mean about ready to wear - it can be hard sometimes but there is really so much to choose from if you are prepared to spend all day traipsing around till you find something. That's the charm of the Souk tho' isn't it? You have to rummage for buried treasures
