That's what I usually do when I straighten my hair. At the moment I'm using my old Hair Tools (waiting to get myself some GHDs).
Other than GHD, the best pair of straighteners out there are these fantastic wide plated ones my mate (who's a hair stylist) used to use in her previous salon. They are called "Quick Flat Irons" and are possibly the most amazing things ever. However, I've trawled the net looking for them but to no avail, and as she's no longer on speaking terms with her ex boss, she can't wangle me a pair ![]()
