thinking of retiring to Morocco

Hi folks , i am the newbee on the block, I have joined the forum because i am considering Morocco as my country to retire to, and I am hoping to gather info from you guys on how it is to live in Morocco.
I've checked all the web sites for the rules and regs of living in Morocco, and it looks kind of complicated, a lot of red tape if you know what I mean, I am thinking there has to be an easier way, do you have any suggestions?. I know as a UK citizen , I can stay for 90 days, can that be extended? I have read about a guy who takes a ferry to Spain every 90 days and returns the next day , is that a practical way of dealing with the red tape issue?

Hi lucky you, I would love to retire to morocco... not sure how strict they are in morocco if you overstay your 90 days, but it seems a country where money talks...if you know what I mean However it may not be wise to rely on that...I found a link which may be of some help to you. I think you can apply for a residents visa while you're there. Or indeed pop across to Spain for a quick visit.

Morocco Visa - Tourist / Travel, Business

Good luck. Do let us know how you get on. Have you a particular part of Morocco in mind?

Visa runs do seem the easiest option. you can always use it as a shopping opportunity for items you may not be able to buy in your locality.
