Smile Hi All

Hi, I've just joined. I live in the UK. As yet I have not visited Morocoo but plan to next year so I thought I would join this forum and maybe find out more about the country and it's culture etc.

I would be grateful for any ideas of places to visit and where to stay. Books and brochures are all very well and have their place but I prefer to hear of the experiences of others. I love travelling and have travelled extensively. I have been to Tunisia which I think may be most like Morocco in a lot of respects. I am interested in visiting the desert camping/treking so would like to hear if anyone here has done that.

Many thanks, Arwen.

Hi,

I can definately recommend the Desert. I went to Zagora and did a 2 day 1 night camel trek from there from the Hotel Fibule. It was fab! Also, I thought Marrakesh good if not a bit crazy in the main square at night! I spent a day at the coast in Essaouira which was great because it was a lot cooler there. I love Morocco I think its a lovely place and would recommend anyone to go there. Hope you find this a little helpful!

Thanks so much for your reply Floydybob, I was beginning to think no one was about. I haven't been to Morocco yet but hope to soon. I did a camel trek in the Sahara in Tunisia and want to do one from Morocco to compare. I suppose desert is desert, but I was captivated by it and thought it an amazing magical place.

Have you spent a lot of time in Morroco? What makes it so attractive to you? Apart from your wife of course. Thank you again for the information. Sorry for the questions.... One more question ~ With it being on the Atlantic ocean is the sea cold or very rough for swimming? We would probably go about early June.

Thank you for the welcome Ahlam_2005, and for the information. Please excuse my ignorance but I don't know where abouts Casa is, Is it a good place for holiday? where is it near to? I need to get myself a map.
Kind regards.

Hi Arwen
Yes ive spent quite a lot of time there as you can imagine! And yes I have to say lots of the attraction for me is my fiance! (future hubby tho )
My time has been spent mostly in Marrakech, Zagora and the desert. I loved the desert too. We stayed in a desert camp and had food cooked for us it was great. Thats another fab thing about Morocco - the food. Marrakech I think could be a good base as its sort of in the middle and theres things to see and do there too! We went to the coast and the desert from there. I didnt venture in the sea tho in Essaouira im afraid so Im not sure about the coldness. My first trip to Morocco was in late June last year and it was very hot in Marrakech (about 45 degrees) but the coast and desert were cooler so early June I think would be a great time to go. Sorry if ive rambled on a bit and hope its a little helpful!

Hi and thanks again, yes it's very helpful. Marrakesh sounds good. Nice to hear about the food. I love food both cooking and eating it I like to try different local dishes. I also love the sunshine and hot weather 45 degrees ~ bring it on.... What are the beaches like ? I'm thinking they are sandy is it fine sand or coarse. Don't worry about rambling on I'm an expert at it. Sorry for all the questions, but thanks hugely for the answers. Kind regards to you.

Please accept my apology, I don't know why I assumed you had a Moroccan wife or in deed any wife. I wish you and your fiancee all the best for the future.
