Sincere thanks to Coolpharess, Houda-K and Malik. Coolpharess! You're on track with your insight about the real issues.......interelational! I have relatives that are Sunni Muslims; Falasha Jews and Christians. I've have personally attended marriages between Christians and Jews and between Christians and Muslims.
I've been taught as a child, (by Muslim and Falasha Jew mentors) that I am not a Black Man, but An African born in America. I was also taught that black is not a color, instead, it's a shade that is opposite to the shade called white. To label a person a shade without including his origin, is insulting and demeaning. I will continue to pray for unity. Jamal |

Jamal, different people have different views about nationality. Some sub-Saharan Africans do not believe they anything to do with AfricanAmericans and want nothing to do with them while others believe they have a lost kinship and feel a close identity with them.
One key thing that many Americans tend to overlook is Africa is a continent with thousands of languages, cultures, tribes, traditions, etc. E.g. Egypt not like Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe is not like Niger. If I can make a suggestion it would be that you should visit Maroc. Get to know the people (not just as a tourist). Get to know the habits and the attitudes of the people. I have seen quite a few Moroccan-foreigner marriages where one or both people are in for a big culture shock and cannot shake off the differences. Do not be pressed to make quik decisions. And what I said in my last post about the Muslimah-Christian thing is for real. Not too much would happen to you but that girl could be thrown in jail. Success to you.

Malik! Thank you for your wisdom regarding visiting and experiencing Moroc to understand the Culture first hand. If it's God's will, that will be this year. I understand that Christian-Muslim unions are frowned upon, but is it criminal or illegal in Morocco????????????? How real is the threat of the woman being incarcerated?
